La Familia Recognized for Immunization Record
The New Mexico Department of Health Immunization Coalition officially "recognized and applauded" La Familia for achieving a childhood immunization greater than 90% in 2012.
New Mexico children between the ages of 24 and 36 months should be vaccinated for a range of diseases including measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria, tetanus, hepatitis and polio. Our record was described in the Coalition report in the following statement: La Familia...has maintained excellent standards and protocols regarding vaccine management and delivery and has achieved almost perfect immunization rates."

La Familia Honored by the Santa Fe Professional Business Women
La Familia Medical Center was named the Employer of the Year by the Santa Fe Professional Business Women. The award is given annually to one non-profit and for for profit business for "investing in and implementing outstanding work/life policies and programs for its employees, their families and the community."

LFMC Receives CDC Grant to Address Health Disparities
On March 1, 2013 La Familia received notification of an award of $148,000 from the Centers for Disease Control. The goal of program (REACH Su Communidad Consortium) is to fund a community-wide effort to improve the overall health and wellness of Hispanics/Latinos and other minority populations in five states.
La Familia (a sub-recipient under Hidalgo Medical Services in Silver City) will lead the effort in Santa Fe County and will be joined by a Community Leadership Team made up of grocers, farmers, nutritionists and public employees who are engaged in efforts at the City and State to impr...
